Duration per Stay: 1 Year

Visa Fee: €70 (to be paid at VFS).
 
Note:
VFS does not currently support online payments for visa fees. Payment must be made at the center.
If online payment becomes available, adjustments will need to be made accordingly.
 
Document Checklist
1. Application Form (D)
Fully completed and signed by the applicant.
2. Passport-size Photographs
Two recent color photos with a white background.
Size: Standard passport size.
Do not staple photographs to the application form.
3. Passport/Travel Document
Must meet the following conditions:
Issued within the last 10 years.
Valid for at least 3 months beyond the intended stay.
Contains at least 2 blank pages.
4. Passport Photocopies
Two sets of photocopies of the applicant's passport.
5. Personal Cover Letter
A detailed letter explaining the purpose of travel and duration of stay.
6. Nulla Osta
Original and photocopy of the Nulla Osta document issued by the competent S.U.I. (Sportello Unico per l'Immigrazione) in Italy.
Conditions:
Valid for six months from the issue date.
Must match the applicant's details as per the passport.
Discrepancies must be corrected by the S.U.I. before submission to the Embassy.
7. Host Agreement
Official Convenzione di Accoglienza (Host Agreement) between the applicant and the host institution in Italy.
Must include:
Employment conditions.
Monthly financial support details.
Research activity description and duration.
Information on researcher mobility (if applicable).
Medical insurance coverage details for the researcher.
8. Air Ticket
A copy of a confirmed one-way air ticket to Italy.

Request a personal interview.
Ask for additional documents during the application process.
Ensure all documents are accurate and complete to avoid delays.
Applications with incorrect or missing information will remain pending until required corrections are submitted.
